Dancing Pairings, Odds Announced—Brandy Pegged as Favorite, Mrs. Brady Not So Much
We haven't seen pairings this odd since Julia Roberts married Lyle Lovett.
The motley crew of celebs tapped for Dancing With the Stars has been assigned their pro partners. Count on this: It's gonna get interesting.
Here are the teams, as announced today on Good Morning America.
* Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy
* Michael Bolton and Chelsie Hightower
* Margaret Cho and Louis Van Amstel
* Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke
* David Hasselhoff and Kym Johnson
* Florence Henderson and Corky Ballas
* Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough
* Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer
* Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas
* Audrina Patridge and Tony Dovolani
* Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and Karina Smirnoff
* Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya
With the pairings set, the oddsmakers at Bodog.com are already handicapping the season.
Brandy has been pegged as the early favorite to take home the crown, followed by Grey, Patridge and The Situation. At the other end, Florence "Mrs. Brady" Henderson is the longest shot, finishing behind the presumed untwinkle toes of Warner and Palin.
Finally, this season could have turned out even more oddball. According to the Hollywood Reporter, several celebs approached by ABC turned down the chance to display their dizzy feet, including Sylvester Stallone, Ann Coulter, Condoleezza Rice, Erin Brockovich, Richard Branson, Tim Allen, Suzanne Somers, Kirstie Alley, Drew Carey and E!'s very own Joel McHale. According to E! Online's Marc Malkin, Ryan O'Neal and Jamie Lee Curtis also passed. (And Joan Rivers is pissed that she's never been asked, but that's another story...)
"We've approached a lot of people over the years," executive producer Conrad Green told the trade.
"People say no for a variety of reasons. Some people like the show but think they suck at dancing. It's a lot easier to say no than it is to say yes."

Jersey Housewives' Danielle: What's Up With Her and Lesbian Superstar Lori Michaels?
When Danielle Staub and her maybe-girlfriend Lori Michaels performed on Watch What Happens Live, the show's host, Bravo exec Andy Cohen, didn't think they were together in a romantic way.
But he's thinking differently these days about the resident vixen of The Real Housewives of New Jersey and the singer-songwriter he's dubbed "Lesbian Superstar Lori Michaels"…
"I felt that Lesbian Superstar Lori Michaels was giving me eye language at the Bravo Clubhouse when we did Watch What Happens Live that said it was not," Cohen tells me. "I just got the vibe from Lesbian Superstar Lori Michaels that it was not happening."
But then he ran into them a couple of times in Atlantic City before they taped the reunion. "I saw them arriving together at the Borgata the day before and then I ran into them in the lobby," he said. "I really got the sense that they were together."
As for that reunion, Cohen says—no, he promises—that part two airing on Monday will shock us even more than the cuss-filled rage Theresa spewed at Danielle in the first half. "What I'll tell you is that Jacqueline has something of an epiphany somewhere through the taping and her epiphany is really going to surprise people," he said. "Two things happen that I never would expect to happen in million years. Literally, the shots of me, my mouth is on the floor."
And this does not include Danielle's unexpected show-and-tell of the hair extensions that Jacqueline's daughter Ashley pulled out during the now infamous night at The Brownstone nor her confrontation with Kim G..
Cohen declined to say if he wanted Danielle back for another season. He laughed, "Too much, one thing at a time. We need to let the dust settle here."
